Location

Where you’ll be

5 Stars Villas are in Svoronata, southwest Kefalonia — about 8 km (5 miles) south of Argostoli and 3 km south of Lassi. The village sits roughly a mile inland, ringed by three sandy beaches: Ammes, Avithos and Ai Helis.

About the area

Svoronata is a ten-minute drive from the airport and, unlike some parts of Kefalonia, the terrain here is fairly flat — an excellent base for those who enjoy easy walking. There is a choice of beaches reached from the village, all of them sandy.

The longest is Avithos, with two sandy coves: the main Avithos beach, with beach facilities, and the unspoilt sand of Megalipetra. Avithos has two beachside tavernas and a cantina that supplies sunbeds and umbrellas. Ai Helis is a secluded sandy cove reached by a steep track. Ammes, too, has a small cantina with sunbeds and umbrellas.

Svoronata itself has a handful of tavernas and three mini-markets. The local bus runs daily from the capital, Argostoli, about twenty minutes away. The famous long beaches of Makris Gialos and Platis Gialos are within fifteen minutes’ drive at the resort of Lassi, where you’ll find more tavernas, shops and a little nightlife.
